One thing I’ve been putting off for the past few Christmases is stepping up on my Christmas decoration organization. I would throw things in boxes haphazardly and hope to have a stress free decoration time the next year. How would that ever work?! Seriously! I got tired of taking down every single box just to see if it had anything I wanted to use for the year in it.
5 Christmas Decoration Organization Tips for a Stress Free Christmas
Keep Christmas Lights Tangle Free
There are products you can buy from the store to keep Christmas lights wound and tangle free. However it’s so easy to DIY your own with a simple foam board and scissors. I cut “ wide strips of and cut out a space on the top and bottom. Next wrap your Christmas tree lights around it and tie it in place. Then write what kind of lights you’ve wrapped up on the Posterboard.
Use Clear Totes and Labels
Usually we store things to keep them out of sight. However if you have a lot of decorations it saves time energy keeping them in clear sight in clear tote containers. It definitely saves you energy from pulling out every tote to see what decorations are in which tote.
Bag Em Up
Keep small ornaments and other decorations in durable sandwhich bags .
Ribbons on a Stick
Slide your Ribbons onto a long strip of Posterboard and secure them in place with twine stapled on either end.
Gift Boxes as Storage Too
Gift boxes and tin cans like these are very useful for decor items you don’t want to get bent or crushed in storage.
I’m optimistic that getting my decorations together later this year will be so much better since I tried these Christmas organization tips.
