If you want to be beach body ready, all you have to do is put a swimsuit on your body. It’s true, but as much as I’m here for this saying, it does nothing for anyone wanting to be more confident in a swimsuit. I’m happy to say that I’m in a place right now where I have not a single care when I’m at the pool or anywhere else. It took a lot to get to this place, but I’m here. So as I share with you one of my first purchases from Rebdolls (not sponsored) I also want to share some tips to being confident in a swimsuit.

You Are Who You Are
If you had to follow just one tip from this entire post it would be this one! Be yourself and have not a single care in the world. I know it’s cheesy, but it’s the truth. When you know who you are, and what you’ve been through it’s going to be pretty tough for anybody else to tell you who you are.
Buy Plus Size Swimsuits That YOU Love
There’s nothing like a piece of clothing that has you in your feelings (about yourself not Keke) in a good way. Forget about what is trending and go with swimsuits that you love for your own body. Thankfully, we have a plethora of places to buy plus size swimwear from and that list keeps on growing!
Throw Negative Thoughts and Opinions in the Trash
If it doesn’t make you feel good say “it’s a no for me”. Social media and media in general is a crazy machine that can make you feel like a million bucks and like you’re unaccomplished AF in the space of an hour. Unfollow and unplug (from your devices and in the real world) to avoid triggers to negative thoughts until you’re good. At the end of the day your peace with yourself is what is most important and unfollowing the people that trigger those feelings (as much as you may love what they do) is a must.
Accessorize
Why stop at a swimsuit! Add earrings, a bomb straw bag or beach bag, sunnies that provide all the attitude you want to serve and more. Forget about the notion that wearing accessories or even a little makeup here and there is EXTRA! Kindly refer to tip 3 if those thoughts start running through your head or if anyone tries to impose it on you. Do whatever you want. Your body. Your life. My go to accessories when I’m headed to the pool or beach are sunnies, chunky hoop earrings, my oversized straw bag from ASOS, and a light eyebrow fill. Sometimes a little lip gloss.
Consume Positive Vibes
When you are on social media in particular, follow the platforms, bloggers, and other personalities that feed your heart and soul. Follow plus size bloggers/influencers that look like you and be encouraged by them and their style. I think it’s also important to recognize that many of the people that you admire on social media (myself included) have really sh!tty less confident days than they’ll share with you. Remember that and don’t fall into the whole “Their lives are perfect” train of thinking.
These are not the only tips to building confidence or being confident, but they are some of the things I definitely keep in mind and use. Confidence is not something you can just have and keep forever. You have to constantly work at it, keep yourself in check, and realize that your life is truly your own. Your mind and your body are truly your own and beautiful AF.
