Summer time is here! We spent so much time waiting for Spring to come through and now the temps in Florida are suddenly in the 90s. So with the official first day of summer (June 20th) right around the corner, it’s time to start shopping for plus size size summer outfit essentials. To be honest, I think I’m pretty much set and wanted to share with you all some of the trends (from colors, to styles, to accessories) that I’ll likely be rocking for the summer.
Plus Size Summer Outfit Essentials
Off the Shoulder Tops
As a plus size girl with large arms I know that not everyone is 100% comfortable with having their arms out 100% of the times, but chile it’s still hot! So off the shoulder tops are the perfect meet in the middle for showing skin up top and still being comfortable. Still loves, don’t be scared and push yourselves to bare your arms this summer.
Plus Size Summer Shorts
If you’re anywhere that get’s hot, sticky, and humid AF like Florida, the less clothing the better. Sun’s out and my thighs will be too. They’ll be out in denim shorts, paper bag waist shorts, rompers, etc. *bloop*
Swimsuits

Orange Yellow and Pink for Summer
Listen! I’m a chocolate girl and these three colors are the focus! While they make any melanated girl’s complexion pop in the best of ways, they’re all also colors that look well on practically every body.
Flowy Travel Friendly Summer Dresses
Festivals, conferences, and laid back family vacations are definitely on the brain and flowy summer dresses that travel well are perfect for them all.
Summertime Sandals
After months of boots and leggings, it’s time to free all the little piggies! Sandals are an absolute plus size summer outfit essential for me and it’s time to start stocking up. Make sure to add at least a couple heeled options for more fancy settings.
So yeah! I’m ready for weekly chill sessions by the pool with Coronas in hand, trips to the ice cream shop, and loads of fun all around.
