A pile of shoes at the entrance to our home is not my idea of decor. Hey it’s reality, but it was getting out of control! So after collecting a mix of sustainable and new decor for the past few weeks, I finally finished the affordable entryway makeover in this space.
5 Affordable Entryway Makeover Essentials
The first entryway makeover essential I had to decide between are an entryway table or an entryway bench. So let’s get into both!
Entryway Table
Entryway tables are one of two standard ways to style your entryway space. There are so many ways to style an entryway table throughout the seasons and holiday occasions. I ultimately decided on this $80 entryway table that was the perfect fit for this wall.
First things first I measured the length of the wall to determine the maximum length either piece could be. At some point I decided to go with an entryway table instead of the bench since the couch is just a hop across the hallway. The first piece I bought was this North Avenue Oak Finish Table for under $100. I really like the simplicity of the design and know it’s a piece that’ll work with whatever add to it styling wise. The wood table top ties in nicely with the organic accents I added in the living room as well.
Tip: Sofa table and console table are other words to use when searching for entryway tables. Also pay attention to the height measurements of these tables to make sure they aren’t too high or too low for your space.
Entryway Bench
An entryway bench may be the most practical option if you want to minimize trekking the outdoors right onto your flooring or carpet. Benches with built in storage or room for storage underneath give you the most even if it’s on the affordable end.
If you’re super torn between deciding whether to get an entryway table or bench keep reading for a surprise hack at the end!
A Focal Point
Doing an eye catching, joy inducing entryway makeover isn’t as simple as adding a table or a bench. You need a focal point, something that’s going to draw your eye to the space and ties in with the color scheme of your space. Usually that’s either a large piece of framed art or a beautiful mirror. Art is totally subjective so choose one that really brings you joy and ties in with the color scheme of your space.
Ottomans
Now as I shared placing large baskets of all kinds under entryway benches have become a thing. However if you don’t have any intention of putting things in them, you just may consider it a waste of space. So here’s the hack that lets you have the entryway table you want and the seating that an entryway bench would provide. Ottomans. I love how this ottoman gives the vibe of a wicker basket, and the seating of a bench.
Vases, Plants, and/or Lamps
I’m counting vases, plants, and lamps as the fifth affordable entryway makeover essential because they all serve similar purposes on entryway tables. Lamps and plants add light and life respectively to the space. Taller lamps and vases create a connection between the height of mirrors/art mounted on the wall. Unfortunately this space doesn’t get enough light for plants like my planty outdoor patio space so real-looking faux plants are a great alternative. Vases can also tie colors in the space together and serve as storage for things like treats or keys.
Now I won’t say that no shoes are EVER in the entryway, but it’s significantly less and they don’t stay there. I really think that is because of this entryway makeover. Like who wants to mess up the vibe of super cool looking space?
