This Floridian heat beating down on my face on a daily forces me to think about protecting my face from the UV rays I can’t see! Sunscreen would be the obvious answer to that problem but I like to wear makeup to work now that I’m a a proper 9 to 5 cubicle chick. So on a make up hunt I went. As I lollygagged in a local Walgreens I came across Black Radiance’s True Complexion BB Cream with SPF. I loved their pressed powder foundation so I decided to give this a try in the color appropriately named Chocolate .
It has a slight orange “undertone?”-forgive the non beauty guru terminology- but I know that’s good for my particular skin tone because it conceals dark spots and dark circles under my eyes very well. The consistency is also great. One layer typically provides solid even coverage, but I like to build on that layer with a second layer in naturally darker areas like my chin and under my eyes.
It distributing and blends well when I use it with my BH Cosmetics Pro Beauty Blending Sponge (#achievementunlocked I’ve finally got the hang of using this thing.)
Although this product is oil free, I still try to keep my oily skin under wraps with a translucent powder. I still find the need to blot about 5 hours in. Even with the occasional blotting and no reapplication of powders of any kind, the coverage is still great at the end of my work day (day job) at 5ish.
This was a great find and I’ve been using it daily for at least three weeks. Even with my oily skin I’m happy to report that I haven’t experienced any breakouts at all. I will definitely be repurchasing this again to continue the office salvage and protect my face in the event that I decide to brave the Floridian sun.
