One thing I look forward to in the morning since working from home is making myself the first cup of coffee and watching Kem make his cup of hot chocolate. It’s become one our moments that I cherish. I know it’s just a matter of time before he thinks he’s too cool to sip a cup with his mom. So I’m savoring it, and wanted to make it more fun with a DIY coffee and hot chocolate bar. These hot chocolate bars can be as elaborate or as simple as you’d like them to be. If you’re expecting guests regularly then it’s probably best to have more options in terms of toppings. I wanted to keep it simple, organized, and festive for the Holidays.

Holly Berry Mug
NOEL Christmas Tin Box
“Bottle Brush” Christmas Trees
Gnome Figurine
Christmas Themed Sign
Burlap Poinsettia Print Placemat

To make the canisters more festive I wrapped them in Christmas themed ribbon and secured the ribbon with hot glue at the back. Next I stuck the gold labels on the front after writing what each container would you know…contain!
I added a Command hook under the cupboard to hang this cute wooden sign above the coffee/ hot chocolate bar.
Next I lined all the canisters up in front of the sign. I really love the look of the burlap poinsettia print placemats this year and I used one to make the display look nicer.
Note: Be sure to keep the coffee far away from the hot chocolate. We don’t need extra hyper kids bouncing off the wall right?!
Gnomes are a very popular home decor piece this season. I was shocked to find this gnome figurine at my local Dollar Tree.
The Dollar Tree had so many Christmas themed containers to choose from like this NOEL tin box. Boxes like these are great for keeping all the fun toppings and spices you regularly use for your hot drinks in one place. I used it to keep our candy canes and holiday sprinkles contained in one place on the counter.
This kitchen definitely gives me warm toned, cozy cabin vibes and I think the colors in this hot chocolate bar fit perfectly with it. I didn’t think we could get more excited to make our coffee and hot chocolate in the morning, but this DIY definitely changed all that.
