If you’re following me on Instagram (if not get on over there) you may have noticed that I’m a fan of emojis. I’m not excessive with it, but I do love to add at least one to warm up my replies and captions from time to time. My faves for the moment would have to be the in love/awe, happy, silly, and the cool emojis. If you’re a fan of emojis as much as I am then you’re going to love this DIY. This one was inspired these designer slippers below.
Get this! They cost $295! *insert 295 shocked emojis* here. Time to DIY these.
I want to show you how to wear your emotions on your feet with this easy DIY version.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Felt in whatever colors you want your words and emojis
Velcro tabs
Scissors
Pencil (marking tool)
A pair of flats (I got these from Walmart $5)
Permanent fabric glue
Freehand cut or cut stenciled letters out of your felt to create the “I feel” for your left flat. together to make it sturdy. Glue your letters facing out onto your right shoe.
Note: Be sure your letters are to a size that you like before gluing any of them on. After I glued on the “I” I realized I needed to make my letters smaller.
Cut out a circle for your emojis face and do the same for eyes mouth or whatever is needed for your emojis of choice.
Note: Two circles glued on top each other would make a more durable emoji base.
Assemble your emojis with glue.
Next glue velcro tabs to your emojis and to the center of your left flat. I recommend gluing the soft half of the tab to the emojis.
Attach your emojis and you’re done! This is perfect for emoji lovers young and young at heart alike. This is not going to help you if you’re trying to limit your emoji use on social media, but hey now we can wear our emojis on our feet!
