I made this super cute DIY heart print sweater that’s the perfect craft to try ahead of Valentine’s Day or just because you like heart print fashions. This would also be a great way to breathe some life into an old or basic item you haven’t been wearing.
How to: DIY Heart Print Sweater
Supplies for this DIY
Sponge
Cosmetic Sponge
Scissors
Acrylic or Fabric Paint
Poster board / Cardboard
Cotton Sweater (Link to Where I Got Mine)
Make a stamp by cutting a dense makeup sponge into a heart shape (or any shape you like). Fortunately I found these heart shaped cosmetic sponges at The Dollar Tree.
Next lightly dab the sponge into your paint. Make sure that the sponge is not dripping or overly saturated with the paint.
Lightly press the painted sponge on your sweater in the places that you want your hearts to be. If you’re adding the print to the back and front of your sweater, let one side dry thoroughly before flipping it over and repeating all the steps above.

DIY Tips: I find that this DIY is easier to do when you’re using a dark colored paint on light colored fabric. It’s a bit more challenging to get white and light colored paints to show up opaquely on dark clothing.
