You know you’re an adult when you look at a Christmas tree and don’t really think about the gifts you’re about to get on the 25th. I mean I do think about it, but hardly. When I look at it, it just makes me think back on the entire year that led up to the current moment. Our family’s greatest event for the year was making the move to Tallahassee, FL. It was made on our leap of faith to get better jobs (#rippeanutpayhighcostoflivinglife) and a better life (#rippaychecktopaycheckstruggle) and that leap proved to be one definitely worth taking. To remember the times of the year past I created some easy photo ornaments for the Christmas tree .
Supplies
Family Photos Fillable Plastic Ornaments Confetti/Festive Fillers Ornament Hooks
Print wallet size photos of your favorite pics from the past year. Get your family involved in picking out the photos. First state fair carnival rides, fall festivals, road trip to Atlanta with babe, or the 1st day of school pics are the little things I wanted to remember about this year.
Open the ornament and fill it with as much confetti as you like. Push the photo into the same half of the ornament that’s holding the confetti, and close the ornament. If your photo is t0o big or popping back out from the curved shape, trim down the sides of the photo and try again.
Hook and hang. These ornaments totally remind me of the orbs holding prophecies in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Printing photos of things you are working towards in 2017 and using them in this project is an awesome idea come to think of it.
I think I’ll make a tradition out of this. It’s a great pre-Christmas activity to do with the family and a sweet sentimental gift idea for loved ones that are far away. Have you tried photo ornaments before?
