One of the affordable plus size brands that I’ve heard a lot of my fellow plus size bloggers talk about is SheIn. I’ve also gotten questions about my own SheIn review once I’ve shared my love for fashions especially on the affordable end. I couldn’t really give a solid opinion on the brand because I haven’t had a personal experience with the brand. That all changed when I placed my first order in August. I purchased 5 pieces in all 2 jumpsuits, 1 pair of pants, 1 dress , and 1 crop top maxi skirt coord. The oh so popular gingham crop top coord landed me on Instyle.com and was a hit on Instagram! Now it’s time to give all the tea on SheIn. So I’ve broken this review down into 5 major parts price, quality, fit, and shipping. There’s also one other factor that’s extremely important to me and I had to include it in here to be 100. Keep reading!
Breaking Down This SheIn Review
Price
I was able to get all the pieces for $109. I would say that their clothing is very affordable and a great option to get fashion forward and trendy pieces without breaking the bank.
Shipping Experience
I received my package within the delivery time stated on the site. The office staff in my complex didn’t let me know that they had a package for me, and I wasn’t actively tracking the package. So it was actually sitting in their office longer than I needed to. However the tracking info showed that it was delivered within the promised time frame. I’ll know better next time.
Quality
I’m very happy with the quality of every single piece that I’ve received. There were no loose hems, holes, or cheap feeling materials with any of the pieces ordered. Other than a couple (like literally 2-3) threads that I snipped away, there wasn’t any thing to complain about. Only time, repeated washing, and repeated wearing will tell how they’ll actually hold up.
How was the fit?
I was anxious about how everything would fit, and that anxiety proved to be unwarranted. *insert claps* Every – single – thing – that -I – ordered – fit – me! *End claps* The only thing that needs altering is my mustard front slit pants (coming soon) and that’s due to plus petite struggles. I consider this very minor because this is an issue for me from affordable brands to “more expensive “ brands.
She In Marketing – Let’s Keep It 100
I would really like to see diverse representation when it comes to their Instagram page. There’s a ton of bloggers of color and/or plus size bloggers that wear and share content surrounding SheIn on a regular basis, but you would never know that if you weren’t following these people directly.
This is not specific to SheIn by any means. There are many brands that sell plus size clothing, but their marketing campaigns don’t reflect that. It’s something I’ve noticed, and want to bring to the table for discussion in a future post.
Summing It Up
All in all based on my first shopping experience, I would recommend SheIn to fashionistas on a budget. Pay attention to the size guides for each individual item and the reviews provided and you should be good. Even with the lack of diversity on the marketing facet of SheIn, I definitely won’t discourage women of color and/or curves from giving them a try. They are definitely imo a great option for fashionistas on a budget that want exciting and trendy clothing. I’ll probably be reaching out to them in some way to see if they’re open to having a more colorful Instagram and report back if anything.
