There’s a HUGE misconception that 4c hair just cannot hold a curl or any soft wavy textures for that matter. Honestly I myself have shied away from attempting certain styles on my kinky 4c hair because my time is not to be waisted with failed hairstyles. Who wants to spend hours styling their hair and drying it only to wake up to a hot mess in the morning? Not I. Nope.
However we are doing things different in 2017 (can I get an amen?) and giving new things a try. I’m starting off with attacking an old arch nemesis, flat twists and perm rods. Between straggly results and hair that refused to curl on rods I just took the L and stuck to my usual basic twistout self, but now I have Kinky Tresses products on deck.
