I’m gonna be going a little Pom Pom crazy for a few upcoming DIYs because I found a new tool that makes Pom Pom making super easy. You’ve been warned. 😉 While I was roaming the aisles of Michael’s (favorite lunchtime pastime) I came across this Clover pom pom maker and had to give it a try.
Supplies:
Yarn
Clover Pom Pom maker (it comes with two makers for large & small pom poms)
Scissors
1. Open up the Pom Pom maker and wrap yarn around the first half of the device until it’s filled. Three to four layers of yarn should be good. 2. Continue wrapping the yarn on the other half of the Pom Pom maker by transitioning over to other side at the hinge. 3. Once that side is also filled cut the end of the yarn and close that half of the pom pom maker. It should look like a little yarn donut.
4. Next cut along the groove. This will create all the short fuzzies that will become your pom pom. 5.Take a long piece of yarn and slide it between the same groove and tie a knot tightly. This will secure all the fuzzies together and create the Pom Pom shape. 6. Open the pom pom maker to release the pom pom. Roll the pom pom and trim to define the circular shape.
There’s more below. Keep going. 🙂

They’re so easy and quick to make that I made some for everyone. I put my first pom pom on my handbag. I also made fuzzy pom pom creatures for my son Kem by adding silly eyes on his Pom Poms before attaching them to his backpack. Babe also got in on the pom pom action with a pair to hang on his rear view mirror. They enjoyed their pom.poms and this Clover pom pom maker made it fun for me to make them as well.
Have fun with this tutorial and go pom pom crazy with me! 🙂
