Public Desire Cut OutAnkle Boots
9 times out of ten if I have to quickly grab something in my closet for any situation it’ll be a little black dress. You know “they” say it’s the one thing every woman should have in their closet. For once, I can say that I definitely agree with this fashion rule written by some unknown person. It truly is a life style saver no matter the situation. I recently chose my latest LBD from YoursClothing and let’s just say it’s a winner. The draping detail on the side is my fave because it gives my already curvy body some BAHDOW! level curves. I never really got the whole “Does this make my butt look big?” worry, because I am here for anything that gives me this kind of curve poppage. 🙂
I also picked this dress specifically because again “versatility is essential” to join my wardrobe team. So here are 10 easy ideas I have for styling this little black dress that you can also use to style your own. If you don’t have a LBD already, girl the one I’m wearing is definitely one to try (get it here).
10 Little Black Dress Styling Options
1. Colorful Shoes + Bag
A pop of color with some shoes and/or a bag adds some interest to an otherwise basic little black dress.
2. Striking Statement Jewelry
Add statement earrings and/or necklace to establish elegance for more formal occasions.
3. Faux Fur
There’s nothing like a gorgeous faux fur coat or jacket to add some glam to you little black dress. Teddy jackets, fuzzy cardigans, and the same in vest form are also other options to add more interest.
4. Leather Moto Jacket
A little black dress paired with a bomb leather moto jacket is a great option if you want to deliver boss, badass tease. Pair it up with some kick ass boots or keep it femme fatale with nice pair of heels.
5. Denim Jacket + Sneaks
For the ladies that love a good comfy casual look (ayeee!) a denim jacket with some clean sneakers is a sure shot.
6. Sweater Weather
Add a sweater over the entire dress and you’ll instantly stretch the versatility of your dress. Define your waist with a wide waist belt and you’ll have a completely different look. This can also work with other kind of tops that are opaque or even the right mesh top. Give it a try. Is it a dress or a pencil skirt? Your secret is safe with me. 🙂
7. Statement Top Underneath
Turn your little black dress into a cute pinafore/overalls (jumper as we say in the VI), by adding a cute statement top underneath. It’s very similar to how the fashion world is currently styling slip dresses so it’ll be right on trend.
8. Colored Leggings + Tights
Put those boring nude tights to the side and try something different. Tights and leggings come in so many cute colors and designs. Whether it’s polka dots, red, or aquamarine, the possibilities are endless.
9. Classic Coat
If you’re looking to keep things simple and cute cozy up in a classic coat for a minimal chic look.
10. Sequin for the Holidays
Alas, we are officially in the season for so many festivities. Add a sequin blazer, collar, or anything for that matter for any holiday get-togethers.
