My oh my have I come a long way in my makeup journey. I’m embarrassed to say that I started out as one of those girls that thought makeup was totally unnecessary and a waist of time. Then I found myself following tutorials Michelle Phan and doing the most at my 9 to 5. One part of my makeup journey that has always been a challenge is improving my oily skin makeup routine. I mean ultimately my goal is to get as close to a matte face face with oily skin as I can. You know… to not have to blot in an 8 hour day and to definitely not look like I slid Crisco all over my face. As you could imagine, achieving a matte – oil free face especially in this diabolical Florida heat would seem impossible. That is until I bought this mattifying primer on board.
The Solution to My Oily Makeup
Enter Becca Cosmetics’ Ever- Matte Poreless Primer. I went to my local Sephora and the employee recommended using it in the T-zone and anywhere else that gets oil. Other than my T-zone, my chin can get a little oily too. So on a freshly washed and moisturized face, I add small amounts to my oily areas and let it dry thoroughly. Once the Becca Cosmetics Ever Matte Poreless Primer dries it tends to leave a white cast and fine powder residue on your skin. No worries. It plays well with foundation.
After that I apply my current favorite drugstore foundation called Revlon Colorstay 24hr Foundation, set it with my go to Black Radiance Soft Focus Finishing Powder in Milk Chocolate, and set everything again with my Nyx Professional Makeup Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray.
End of Day Face with Becca Cosmetics Mattifying Primer
At the end of the day my face has a healthy glow and just looks so skin like. Now depending on the heat situation I might still have to dab, but only on my nose versus my entire face like in the early days.
If you still haven’t tried this mattifying primer in your oily skin makeup routine it’s ok! If you don’t want to risk buying the full size primer just yet, Sephora sells a small travel size. I hope you found this review helpful. As I dabble with makeup products I’ll be sharing more beauty info along the way.
