Velvet is definitely a trend that I’ve been dabbling in since fall and I absolutely love it. The fabric makes any outfit look effortlessly luxurious and I am here for it. I took a spin with velvet wide leg pants and a velvet blazer/jacket and even a simple t-shirt style velvet dress. Velvet dresses by far are my favorite way to wear this trend and it would be a top pic for any holiday party outfit. When I bought this plus size velvet dress from ASOS I knew that it was one to command attention. The rich mustard “Beyonce Hold Up” yellow just screams “I have arrived” and pops severely in the best of ways against my skin. It really is one of those colors that goes great with any skin tone, just like the “Uncensored-Stunna” liquid lipstick I’m wearing.
My little jewel encrusted hot pink clutch is from Banana Republic and thrifted. I just think it’s different from the expected silver, gold, and black clutches, but it works perfectly with the bold yellow. Now imma be honest. These heels are killer, but your girl is not use to wearing heels so high on a regular basis. So I’d probably trade them for my usual 3″ /kitten heel heights when I wear this dress again if it’s an occasion requires standing for any long period of time. I will say though that this whole look has got me shook at my own self like “Girl you is curvy, you is sexy, and you better werk!”
