I’m so happy to see that patches and pins are making a comeback. It’s so cool to see the variety that is out there and how creative you can get. I wanted a statement pullover sweater with patches and have been scouring the net for one that spoke to me with no luck. That’s when I decided to make one on my own (#diylife) and share how you can make your own statement sweater with patches.
Supplies
Pullover sweater
Patches
Iron
Fabric glue (needle and thread optional)
Position your patches on your sweater where you would like them to be. Iron on, glue, or sew your patches into place.
The letters for my QUEEN text were iron-on patches while the diamond, boom, and heart came with their own adhesive on the other side. I ironed on the letters for 30 seconds on the front and 30 seconds on the inside with a paper towel in between to protect the patches. I added fabric glue to the pretty patches that came with their own adhesive to ensure a permanent fix.
Babe/my photographer swore that my sweater was store bought with its new look. Mission accomplished. Exactly what I was going for. What’s better than having a fashion item that’s on trend, that you made yourself, and is totally customized for you? Boom!
