It just worked out that Valentine’s Day is on a Thursday this go round! Close to Friday, but no cigar! For me Thursday’s not going to be the world of romance, and “extracurricular activities” that is expected on Valentine’s Day. We gots to work y’all! I work a 9 to 5, he works a 6pm to 6am, and we probably won’t be getting anything “in” except the coins in our checks. That does not mean that I won’t have an opportunity to dress on theme for Valentine’s Day. Shooot I already got my look together! I’m rocking the heck out of this red plus size power suit on V day with a more opaque top of course.
The blazer and high waisted wide leg pants are both from Misguided on ASOS. I’ve always wanted to rock a suit with just a bra underneath so I had to give it a shot. This long line New Look bra was my first purchase from the brand. I was a bit nervous that my usual size 40D might translate different, but it was definitely true to size.
Even after Valentine’s Day this suit is still perfect for the workplace. I can switch things up and wear the blazer with any black and white look or even a casual tee and denim look for casual Friday. The same goes for the pants. If I want to tone down the boss vibes then I can just wear the red pants with a fancy blouse, a classic button up, or a graphic tee with sneakers.
