You’re probably wondering why the hell is Shamika telling people how to enhance curves. Isn’t she suppose to be body positive?! Lol! It’s not what you think, keep reading! Showing off my curves is not something that I’m scared to do. I’ve always been curvy or “thick” (as some people say) whether I was a size 14 or a size 18/20. I’ve played around with trends and my personal style enough to know what works if I want to enhance my curves. Courtesy of Lane Bryant I put together a look to show you my favorite way to enhance curves (waist trainers, shape wear, or surgery not required).

My Favorite Way to Enhance Curves
My favorite way to enhance curves is with peplum tops and skinny fit bottoms. I’ve found this trick to work on all body types whether you have curves to work with or not! Peplum tops and peplum outerwear like this rainbow tweed moto jacket and corset Bishop sleeve top are just perfect for a seemingly snatched waist. The peplum hem flairs out further than your waist which makes your waist look smaller and hips look just a bit wider. I know society would lead you to believe that wide hips are bad thing, but on Fro Plus Fashion it is everything.

The peplum tops won’t work by themselves though. They must be paired with form fitting bottoms. In this case I’m wearing skinny jeans with a lace up detail along the outer seams. These jeans fit so well and highlight the curves that are there. Leggings and pencil skirts are two other great bottoms to enhance curves as well.
Either one of these peplum pieces would be enough but I love the drama created by layering the moto jacket on top of the blouse. I finished off this look with my white ankle boots from A New Day.
So you see wanting to enhance curves doesn’t have to be a “bad thing”! If you got em flaunt them. If you don’t, try this style hack and let me know how it goes.
