So you know every time this year there’s always tons of posts on how to transition to fall style
5 EASY WAYS TO STYLE A SHIRTDRESS
From corporate chic to comfy casual, a shirt dress is a closet essential.
PLUS SIZE SWIMSUITS FOR SUMMER SLAY
Summer is here and I am just waiting for somebody to post that dreadful gif of Britney Spears crying because “her body isn’t ready for the summer”. Earth to whoever decides to post that meme, your body is beach body ready in whatever condition it’s in. The only reason I’ll be crying is because I don’t have enough money to buy all the swimsuits that I am feeling this year.
I recently filmed an affordable plus size swimsuits lookbook in the Virgin Islands, but it only includes four swimsuits. There are so many others that are HOT AF and I wanted to share them with you here.
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = '//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1498833859545?cb=' + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === 'object'){ if(doc.readyState === 'complete'){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, 'script', 'shopsensewidget-script');
TIPS ON BUYING PLUS SIZE SWIMSUITS
+ SAVING COINS
Hey I get it I get it. Sometime I try to claim I’m a minimalist and then I’m reminded that I’m not by the avalanche of clothes I dodge every morning. Still I have nothing to wear. 🙂 We want to be in ting with new things and that’s ok, but here’s how you can save.
MIX & MATCH – When it comes to bikinis, purchase a top or bottom to add to the tops and bottoms you already have. See that cute geometric bottom in the pic above, I bought it last year, but I bought the bow bikini top this year to spruce it up. I skipped buying the bottoms that match with the bow bikini top and saved about $18 right there.
HAVE YOU TRIED BODYSUITS – Bodysuits typically tend to be significantly less than swimsuits, and have fun prints and graphics just like swimsuits. I recently put a bodysuit to the test as a swimsuit and there are tips and tricks you have got to read BEFORE you start hunting.
MINIMALIST– If you’re really about saving coins and have not a sing f*ck about having multiple options, buy THE ONE! The one swimsuit that sings out to you and the heavens part for. Ok that’s two EXTRA, but you get what I’m saying.
Happy Hunting Luvs!

16 GINGHAM PIECES YOU MUST TRY (+STYLE TIPS)
GINGHAM STYLE IS WHERE IT’S AT! I’ve already purchased a few pieces with gingham prints and I don’t think I’m quite ready to stahp! Whether it’s an off the shoulder top, midi skirt, or cold shoulder dress I want them all. I can only imagine that this print is going to spill right on into the fall season ( yeah I know it’s too early to mention fall 🙂 ) and dare I say replace plaid. Who knows, but what I do know is that it’s my latest print obsession.
As if I needed anything to further fuel my obsession, these stores have the nerve to have gingham in all kinds of colors, clothing items, and even on shoes. I should just wear this print everyday til I’m cured.
Here is just a small curated collection of 10 fashion pieces with my new favorite print.
Heeeeyyyy sexy ladaaayy! Woop, woop, woop…

Gwynnie Bee Review: How to Make the Most of Your Gwynnie Bee Subscription
There’s only one thing better than getting cute clothing for the low low and that’s getting it for the free free. I signed up for Gwynnie Bee’s 30 day free trial just to see what all the hype was about and to give an honest review on the service Gwynnie Bee provides. Gwynnie Bee is a monthly subscription service that provides clothing you pick out (well sorta-we’ll get into that soon) from various clothing brands in the fashion game.
Gwynnie Bee’s Sign Up Process
The sign up process was relatively easy. For the 30 day trial, you have 3 subscription options to choose from, 1 item, 2 items, or 3 items at a time. Gwynnie Bee will recommend that you go with the 2 items option, but you’re not going to listen to them like I did right? Nope. Go for the 3 item option. Just don’t forget to cancel and return your items in time or they will charge you the 3 tiem subscription price. No bueno.
To complete the registration process Gwynnie Bee asks you to place a minimum number of clothing items in your virtual closet. Gwynnie Bee selects items from your closet to ship to you. You can also flag items in your closet as “Priority”. Gwynnie Bee makes great efforts to send at least one “Priority” item each time they ship a package to you.
Gwynnie Bee Shipment Experience
I received four items during my 30-day trial. I subscribed on April 14th and I received my first pair of items two days later. You also get shipping confirmations via email with photos of the items that are in the package. I cancelled my subscription on May 8th. It took about 1 day from when I alerted Gwynnie Bee that I was returning my items to when they shipped off my new pieces to try. I don’t know if this is different from the 3-item option, but with the 2-items option you only get one bag to return your clothing in. I honestly think that you should get a bag for each clothing piece. As it is now, you would have to wear both pieces relatively close together, and ship them out rather quickly to get another set of clothing. Upon cancelling, Gwynnie Bee notified me that the clothing in my possession needed to be there by the 20th. So I probably could have lived on the edge a bit by sticking it out for two more items, but nah.

Effie’s Heart Theresa Dress in Kaleidoscope Print
I loved it! The colors are fun and fresh for the spring season. Easter was in the midst so it fit perfectly for the time that I wore it. The length was perfect in the front and also in the back (big butt struggles).
London Times Textured Dress in Jungle Palm Print
This was my favorite of all the pieces. It has the perfect balance of color and black. I initially styled it with my lace up flats, but I traded them for my ankle boots since it was really rainy. I wore this look to work with my black Talbots cardigan. We had a farewell lunch for a coworker this same day and it was fit well for that setting. My only con is that I felt I could size down. As you can see it was a little bit loose especially in the top.
Vince Camuto Cold Shoulder Jumpsuit in Black
This was my second favorite. I wore this to work as well and spent zero time figuring out what to wear or how to style it this day. I love that it was not a form fitting jumpsuit, but still gave me a defined shape. Similar to the palm print dress I needed this in one size smaller. I spent a lot of time adjusting the top to make sure my bra straps weren’t showing and that the neckline was positioned correctly.
City Chic Floating Fever Dress (on Macys for $119)
I didn’t get a chance to wear this one. I didn’t want to lose out on the opportunity to try more clothing by holding up the return of this dress and the wrap dress. The dress did fit well when I tried it on, but I was not able to style this one for the office.
4 Keys to Your Best
Spring Workwear: Pleated Skirts + Floral Tops
Fun fact: I’m known for wearing a lot of black and/or dark colors at work. Whenever I don’t wear black, people have to pause for the cause and take note. Needless to say I’m a fan of black and that’s not changing no matter the season. However, I’ve been making a lot of effort to incorporate pops of color here and there when thrifting for spring workwear. I recently collabed with fellow affordable/thrifted style blogger Rebecca of BeccSmith.com to share with you spring workwear looks that we thrifted for $20 or less. With #werkwearwednesday and #thriftedthursdays Rebecca and I have got you covered with the affordable style inspiration. So here’s my look!
For this look my subtle pop of color is this deep purple and blue abstract floral print top from Ellen Tracy. It’s actually a high low top, but for this look I tucked it into this cute pencil skirt that I also thrifted. It’s so easy to dress this down with a pair of jeans and my current favorite spring shoes casual Fridays at the office as well.
I also found this short sleeve peplum blazer that’s cropped at just the right spot to give me that hourglass dip in my waist. Side Note: Pencil skirts and peplum anything will make your butt look big (that’s a good thing imo) and twerk when you see yourself in the mirror. You’ve been warned and you’re welcome. 🙂
When I saw this black pencil skirt I just could not pass it up because it’s not often that you find a pencil skirt with pleating wrapped all the way around the hem. This skirt is the most fun to walk in because the knife pleat detail dances and flares with each step you take. Pleated skirts and dresses are still trending so this thrifted piece is definitely with the times.
At $4.79 a piece this entire spring workwear get up cost about $15-$16. I hope this outfit left you inspired to give thrifting and coin saving a try. Head on over to Rebecca’s post to see how she saved coins and slayed with her $20 thrifting budget.
Pink Pants : 3 Effortless Ways to Style Pink Pants
On Thursdays I’ve been sharing thrifted outfit posts (#thriftedthursdays on Instagram) to show that looking great doesn’t have to be challenging or expensive. Today I’m sharing how I styled these bomb, bright, and bodaciously bold (say that 3x fast) pink pants. I thrifted them from my local Goodwill for a smooth 4.79. Turns out these pants are from Graver Studio which is a licensed trademark of Susan Graver. I know Susan Graver from watching her promote her clothing line on QVC and always appreciated how stylish yet comfortable her clothing seemed to be. Susan Graver’s pants usually cost around $40- $60 so thrifting them for $4.79 is a certified steal.
Pink pants were definitely out of my comfort realm of dark clothing, but I’m so glad I decided to give myself the challenge. I paired my comfy pink slacks with a classic black and white striped top from which is also thrifted. A black and white top is a great way to balance out the boldness of the pants yet still maintain some interest throughout the entire look. I finished off this office chic look with a simple dainty pendant necklace and my lace up ballet flats (more cute spring shoes HERE).
I’m so glad that I decided to incorporate more color into my wardrobe because it really opened my mind to more style options. I’m thoroughly loving the flashes of color here and there throughout my closet and I’m excited to keep going.

Cute Spring Shoes: Spring Shoe Picks for Fashionistas with Big Feet
Y’all I have been on a shopping frenzy for the past month or more and I think I’m about done as far as clothing is concerned. I still have my radar activated for a couple more pairs of cute spring shoes. However finding fashionable shoes can be a struggle from time to time when your shoe size is above 10. Yes the big feet crew can definitely feel me on this. If you’re a size 10 and under keep on reading too because this post is still for all of us.
I have size 11 sometimes wide feet and I’m tired of going to these shoe departments and only finding whomptastic canvas shoes, flip flops, and boring shoes basically. Big feet fashionistas need cute spring shoes too people! Thankfully there are glimmers of hope for us with big feet here and there on the Internet. Here are a few cute spring shoes that I’ve been eyeing. Side Note: I actually bought three pairs from this list so it’s real 100%).

Simple Plus Size Summer Styles Lookbook
Listen! Now is not the time for heavy clothing at all ‘tall ‘tall. The least clothes I can wear as I hustle getting my new place together, prepare for the logistics of back to school, and just living life the better. So here are four simple summer style outfits I wore in these piping hot streets. These past weekends.
By the way, all of these outfits are around $20 per outfit. Save dem coins!
In this first outfit, I went for a classic white cotton top with an asymmetrical hem on dark wash denim shorts. I kept it classy with a flowy geometrical print cardigan that tied the white top and blue shorts together, and kept it neutral with “nude” thong sandals on my feet.
T-shirt dresses and I have become close friends. You’re going to see a few more t-shirt dresses on this blog. You’ve been warned.
Tie dye is another trend that I wanted try and I finally got to in this outfit with this pair of shorts. I kept it simple with a white tank, black gladiators, and head wrap I made myself.
