With all the fall trends coming out often times the ladies with the 9 to 5’s may feel left out because the clothing that’s often pushed to the forefront is for the casual brunch, social events, and nightclub kinda lifestyle. At least I feel that way sometimes. Casual brunch for me looks like a bagel and vanilla caramel latte next to my stapler on my desk. My social event is getting to scroll through IG stories on lunch or catching up on all the fun things my son did at school that day. So more often than not I get to flex my fashion sense the most in the office as I’m handling business. While fall trends like thigh high boots, and fishnets under denim will never see the light of my office desk lamp, wearing velvet in the office is something I’ll definitely be doing again and again.
To kick this velvet trip off I decided to double up with this velvet jacket and velvet wide leg pants. I really didn’t think the color black could be anymore beautiful until I saw it in velvet. These two items did not come together, but they made for one luxe velvet power suit. While I truly wouldn’t mind prancing the office hallways in the jacket all day, I just went with a simple white button up with black pinstripes and sharp statement cuffs to keep it crisp.
While you may be interested in wearing velvet, not everybody is about that suit or pants life.
Other Pieces to Try When Wearing Velvet this Fall
Velvet Skirts
With a fancy statement sweater or statement top, a velvet skirt will make your look ultra-luxe with minimal effort.
Velvet Shoes
Add some color and velvet in your step or shoes rather. They’ll fit right in for fall moving on into the holidays for office parties and even outside the office.
Velvet Bags
Sometimes it’s all in the details and a great way to subtly add velvet to your looks is with a cute velvet bag or other accessories. Not to mention it’s a great way to get in on this trend with out spending a whole lot.
Wearing velvet in the office is definitely something to have fun with this fall.
