It never fails! I always seem to ring in the New Year with a new protective style. Here’s why! I ain’t got no time to be styling my hair around the holidays ! Between decorating, holiday shopping, and seasonal depression the last thing I care to be bothered with is my hair. So as I perused my local beauty supply store I decided I wanted a look with some spice . I remembered that I really loved a previous Bohemian curl red crochet hairstyle I did in summer. It had the natural texture I was looking for, but I needed just an extra dash of spice. So I went red, really RED!!!

How I Prepped for My Red Crochet Hairstyle
For this particular style, I washed and deep conditioned with products from the Carol’s Daughter Coco Créme Collection. The conditioner is one of my favorite conditioners at the moment. It melts every single tangle in my Afro-textured 4c hair.
Then I blew out my hair using the tension method. I used water and Carol’s Daughter Hair Mimosa as a heat protectant and moisturizer. I’ve never experienced dry brittle hair using the Hair Mimosa with any protective style. If you’re a fan of good ole’ grease and water hairstyling, this product is a great alternative.
Here’s a tutorial of all the steps involved in achieving my red crochet hairstyle!
